Bowing Basement Wall Repair with Carbon-Fiber Straps
Soil pressure outside your foundation can push basement walls inward until they bow, crack, or lean. We reinforce bowing walls with carbon-fiber straps that tie the wall to the house framing and the footing, so the wall is held at the top and the bottom.
How our carbon-fiber strap repair works
1. Grind and prep. We grind the wall surface where each strap goes, so the epoxy bonds to clean, solid block or concrete.
2. Epoxy. We put a layer of structural epoxy on the prepped strip.
3. Carbon-fiber strap. The carbon-fiber strap is pressed into the epoxy, running across the bowed or cracked area.
4. Anchor to the sill plate and footing. The strap is mechanically anchored to the sill plate at the top and the footing at the bottom.
5. Final epoxy coat. A final epoxy coat seals the strap to the wall.
