Mold Mitigation for Attics, Basements & Crawl Spaces

Mold needs moisture to grow. If you only clean it, it usually comes back. Finney's Waterproofing treats mold on attic sheathing and rafters, basement framing, and crawl space wood with a 3-step spray process, and we look at the water or humidity problem that let the mold start.

Our 3-Step Mold Mitigation Process

1. Clean. We clean the affected surfaces to clear away visible mold growth.

2. Neutralize and treat. We apply a treatment to the cleaned areas.

3. Odor-control finish. We finish with a botanical odor-control spray to help with that musty smell.

We Fix the Moisture Source, Too

Spraying alone won't last if the space stays wet. Every mold mitigation job comes with a look at where the moisture is coming from and what it will take to stop it:

• Interior basement drainage that carries groundwater to a sump. See Basement Waterproofing.

• Crawl space encapsulation that seals out ground moisture. See Crawl Space Encapsulation.

• Sump pumps and battery backup so water keeps moving out. See Sump Pumps.

• Downspout extensions and grading to keep roof water away from the foundation.

Signs You May Need Mold Mitigation

• A musty or earthy smell in the attic, basement, or crawl space

• Dark or white staining on roof sheathing and rafters, or fuzzy growth on framing, walls, or stored items

• Damp walls, wet insulation, or condensation

• Water marks after heavy rain or snowmelt

Mold Mitigation FAQ

Is this full mold remediation?

No. We provide mold mitigation: a 3-step spray treatment paired with moisture control. For large or hidden mold problems, we'll tell you honestly if you need a different specialist.

Will the musty smell go away?

Treating affected surfaces and stopping the moisture source usually makes a big difference. The odor-control finish helps too.

Why fix the water problem too?

Because mold comes back when the space stays damp. Fixing the moisture source is what makes the treatment last.

Is the inspection free?

Yes. Free inspections and estimates.
