Structural Support: New Beams & Galvanized Support Posts

Sagging floors, a cracked or rotted main beam, or old posts that are failing usually mean the beam under your house can't carry the load anymore. We replace it with a new beam on galvanized support posts. If the floor needs leveling, we do that during the same lift.

How our beam and post replacement works

1. Temporary support. We set temporary supports first, so the house is held up safely while we work.

2. Lift to relieve the load. We raise the floor just enough to take the weight off the old beam. If the floor needs leveling, we bring it back to level during this lift.

3. Remove the old beam. The damaged or undersized beam comes out.

4. Install the new beam. The new beam goes in under the floor system.

5. Set galvanized stabilizer posts. Galvanized steel posts go under the new beam, each one set on a bearing plate to spread the load.

6. Final load transfer. We lower the floor onto the new beam and posts and take out the temporary supports. The new beam and posts now carry the weight.
